Grace A. Hunting, 88, of Salem, died at 12:10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

Born Sept. 28, 1912, in Lebanon, Mo., she was the daughter of William S. and Bessie Nurse Siverly. On Nov. 7, 1937, she married Marvin Hunting in rural Salem.

Mrs. Hunting was deputy auditor for Henry County and secretary for attorney George VanAllen.

She was a member of Salem Friends Church in Salem, where she held many offices, Jackson Township Ladies Club and was a 4-H leader. She enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Gerritt Hunting of Mount Pleasant; two daughters, JoAnn Hunting of Ames and Sara Radlinski of Waterford, Conn.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Hunting will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Salem Friends Church in Salem, with Pastor Tom Palmer officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.

A memorial has been established for Salem Friends Church.
