DROWNING ACCIDENT AT NEW LONDON.

Willis Van Hyning Drowned While Fishing At Country Club.

Willis Van Hyning, 10 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Will M. Van Hyning of New London, who live on the Dave Pearson place about a mile northeast of New London, was drowned Saturday evening in the spillway east of the Country Club.

Willis left home about 4 o'clock to go fishing and hunting. When he did not return for supper his parents became alarmed and went in search of him. A neighbor boy, Merle Eckey, found Willis' hat and gun on the bank, dived into the water and discovered the drowned boy's body in eight feet of water. How the accident occurred is not known.
