He attended a small country school and graduated from Richland High School in 1947. Through a close friend, Delbert met his future wife, Marjorie Ann Sents, and they were married on November 21, 1951. The couple brought into the world Carol Marguerite in 1952, Cynthia Renee in 1955, and Curtis Dean in 1959.

Pleasant this past summer. The couple spent 12 winters in southern Texas meeting new and old friends and enjoying the sunshine. Delbert will always be remembered for his teasing sense of humor, his quick smile, and his hugs. He loves visiting with people.
