Dora Keith Goldsmith

On Wednesday evening, April 4th, Dora Keith Goldsmith died at her home in the Finley neighborhood. She was the daughter of our townsman, Mr. John W. Keith, and was married to Samuel P. Goldsmith on April 13, 1895. She was born November 17, 1869, thus having brought her age to 36 years, 4 months, and 18 days. She was united with the M.E. church at Finley on her conversion in January, 1884. Later on April 13, 1895, she transferred her membership to the Mennonite church with which she has been a member to her end. She had been a great sufferer during her life and the end finally came after weeks of intense suffering. But through all her suffering, her comfort was the thought that soon she might go to the better home where suffering and pain are unknown. She passed away in that peace and calmness which that faith in Him alone can supply. On Saturday afternoon, in the presence of a large gathering, she was laid away in the Finley cemetery. The funeral services were conducted by Revs. Zimmerman and Musselman, assisted by Rev. Robinson. She leaves to mourn her loss a deeply bereaved husband, and Mary, who has lived with them for almost 14 years, her parents, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers. One sister preceded her to the other shore. A deep sympathy goes out to the bereaved ones and especially to the mother, who on account of her own weakness, was not able to attend the funeral of her daughter.
