Mrs. Messenger Aged 81 Is Dead

Mrs. Mary Messenger, aged 81 years, died at nine o’clock this morning at the John Messenger home on East Main Street where she had been for the last few weeks, having come here from Brighton, where her home had been for many years.

Since she was 16 years of age, Mrs. Messenger had been a resident of this county. She was born August 11, 1837 at Plqua, Ohio, and was a daughter of David and Katie Fox Harvey, who came to this country when she was a young girl. She was married 57 years ago to David Messenger who died two years ago. She is survived by three sons, Dennis of Wayland, John of Washington, and Charles of Brighton. Mrs. Messenger was a member of the Methodist church at Wayland. Death was due to old age and she had been failing for the last several months.

Funeral services will be held at the Woodford chapel at 10 o’clock Thursday morning, conducted by the Rev. T. F. Barker. Burial will be in the Wayland Cemetery.
