MRS. DAVID MAST

February 10, 1921 – The Wayland News

Mrs. David Mast passed away at her home in Noble February 2, 1921 at the age of 82 yrs, 6 mo., and 19 days. Mrs. Mast, before here marriage was Mattie Wenger, born at Orville, Ohio July 19, 1838. Mr. Mast died on June 18, 1919, age 93 years 8 months. Mr. and Mrs. Mast spent the greater part of their married life here. They passed 61 years of their life together. Mrs. Mast is survived by the following children: Joe and Lydia of Noble, Henry of Wayland, Mrs. Mary Nicholas near Olds, Mrs. Katie Schantz near here, one son and two daughters died in infancy. The other near relatives are a sister, Mrs. Leah Miller of Wayland, two brothers, Fred and Elias Wenger of Orville, Ohio and 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Mast was a faithful member of the Mennonite church and as often as she was able attended services whenever possible. Mrs. Mast suffered very much the past winter with pains in her head and ears. A few weeks preceding her death she was unable to hear any conversation. On Saturday evening, February 5, it was found a gathering had formed in her head and had burst. She became unconscious Sunday morning and remained so until her death. Her daughter, Lydia, was her constant companion. Funeral services were held at the Eicher church, February 9th, conducted by Rev. Miller, assisted by Rev. Graber. She was laid to rest beside her husband and children in the Eicher cemetery.
