John Boshart, 66 of Olds Taken Sunday Evening

John Boshart, age 66, passed away at the Memorial Hospital in Mt. Pleasant Sunday evening about 8:45. He had been in failing health for some time but his condition was not considered serious. He was taken to the hospital on Friday for treatment and it was thought he was making satisfactory improvement, when he succumbed to a heart attack unexpectedly.

Mr. Boshart had been a resident of the Wayland community until the last 18 years when he moved to Olds. He was engaged in the produce business for about 15 years of that time in Olds, operating “The Boshart Produce”.

Funeral services were held at the Wayland Mennonite Church, Wednesday afternoon, at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. E. S. Mullett in charge. A quartet comprised of Thurlowe Myers, Harry Dean Suter, George Boller, and Russell Richinberger sang as Mrs. Edw. Wittrig accompanied. James I. And William O. and Vere Boshart, Willis and Everett Magdefrau, and Max Kauffman served as casket bearers.

Interment was made at the North Hill Cemetery. The Zehr Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Boshart was born December 9, 1881, the son of Menno and Sophia Mehl Boshart. On Nov. 4, 1903 he was married to Addie Miller. He was a member of the Wayland Mennonite Church.

Surviving are his wife, four children, Frank, Margaret (Mrs. Paul Abrahamson) of Olds, Laurence of Muscatine, and Mrs. Edith Pinkus of Laguna, California. Ten grandchildren, three brothers, and one sister, William and Omer C. of Wayland, Amos of Goshen, Indiana, and Mrs. Frank Magdefrau of Wayland.
