OBITUARY: ANNA R. BATES
Anna R. Miller was born in Henry County, Iowa, June 15, 1862, and died June 8, 1908, age 45 years, 11 months, and 23 days. She was married to Mr. Isaac Bates December 22, 1881. To this union were born six children, two sons and four daughters, who survive. Mrs. Bates was a genuine Christian woman, dearly beloved by all who knew her, and greatly respected in the community in which she lived. She met death with unusual calmness giving in detail the manner in which she wished her funeral services carried out. On Wednesday, brief devotions were held at the home at 10 A.M. and funeral services were conducted at Finley at 11 A.M. by Rev. Collier, after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery. The attendance was so large the church could not accommodate all the people.
