4/28/1949 Mrs. William Boshart

Mrs. Will Boshart passed away suddenly at her house in East Wayland Saturday afternoon about 4:30. Even though she had been failing in health this past winter, she had been about her housework most of the time. On Saturday Mrs. Boshart said that she was tired and would stay in bed to rest up but late in the afternoon she was stricken with a fatal hear attack.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Stacy Funeral Home at 1:30 and from the Wayland Mennonite Church at 2:00. Rev. E. S. Mullett assisted by J. J Pritchard was in charge. Mrs. Allen Wenger was the soloist accompanied by Mrs. Edward Wittrig. Mrs. Boshart’s nephews, Ervin Rich, Allen Goff, Clarence Goff, LaVerne Eicher, Don Rinner and Marvin Rinner served as casket bearers. Interment was made at the North Hill Cemetery.

Anna Eicher Boshart, daughter of John Eicher and Jacobin Schlatter Eicher was born in Henry County, Iowa March 31, 1880. She departed this life on Saturday, April 23, 1949 at the age of 69 years and 23 days. While yet in her teens, she united with the Eicher Mennonite Church and after moving to Wayland in 1918, transferred her membership to the Wayland Mennonite Church of which she remained a devoted member until her death.

On November 27, 1904 she united in marriage with William Boshart and to this union there were born the following children: Vernon Boshart, Vere Boshart, Ina Peterson, Wilma Kauffman all of this county; and two step-daughters, Harriet Saltzman who preceded her in death and Irene Schrock, of Burlington.

She came from a family of eight children. Those who preceded her in death were two brothers, Elmer and Omer, and two sisters, Lydia Rich and Lavina Goff. Those of the Eicher family who survive her are a brother, Edd Eicher, and a sister, Elizabeth Rinner, both of Washington and Mabel Rinner of this community.

In her own family she is survived by her husband, her four children, a step daughter, 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank all for their kindness and the many expressions of sympathy in this time of sorrow.
