OBITUARY: Wayland Times 6/12/1995

Anna May Bates, 93, formerly of Trenton, died at 5:25 A.M. Saturday, June 19, 1995, at the Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant. Born June 12, 1902 at Wayland, she was the daughter of Harry and Bertha Zuhn Wilson. On Dec. 17, 1919, she married Bernard Max Bates at Mt. Pleasant. He died October 19, 1993. She was a life member of the Trenton United Methodist Church and was a charter member of the Ackles-Roberts Legion Auxiliary of Trenton.
Survivors include two daughters, Judith Messer of Wayland and Kay Rogers of Mt. Pleasant; one son, Donald Bates of Beaumont, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Robert Bates; and one brother, Clifford Wilson.
A private family service was held at 1:30 P.M. Monday at the Beatty Funeral Home with the Rev. Lloyd Latta officiating. Burial will be in Green Mound Cemetery. A memorial in her name has been established to the Trenton Methodist Church.
