Orin Kepper
Orin "Bub" Kepper, 82, of Winfield died Thursday, May 24, 2007, at the Morning Sun Care Center.

Born Feb. 1, 1925, in Winfield, he was the son of Samuel W. and Lois Cannon Kepper. On Jan. 1, 1944, he married Eva Chrissinger. They divorced.

Mr. Kepper was a retired farmer who raised black angus cattle. He was ASCS manager in Independence and was a ASCS board member in Mount Pleasant for several years. He was a Winfield High School graduate, and he attended University of Iowa for two years. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and a former Lions Club member when he lived in Independence. He was a member of the Winfield First Presbyterian Church for over 50 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Page Kepper and Susan Kepper, both of Winfield; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Beauchamp and Wilma Oberman, both of Winfield; and one brother, John Kepper of New Hampshire.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. today at Honts Funeral Home in Winfield.

The funeral service for Mr. Kepper will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Winfield, with the Rev. Bill Morehouse officiating. Following the service, he will be cremated. Burial will be in Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials have been established for the Winfield Public Library and the Winfield Historical Society.
