Hold Rites for Earl Harrison

Earl Joseph Harrison, 65, died in Memorial hospital, Mt. Pleasant, at 4:30 a.m. Sunday, August 29, where he had been a patient one week following a heart attack.

Born January 12, 1900 at Winfield, Iowa, he was the son of Isabelle Anderson and Joseph Harrison. He was married March 9, 1950 at Burlington to Irene G. Gray.

He was a member of the Methodist church, a World War I veteran, a member of American Legion Post 52 and of the Forty and Eight.

For the past ten years, the couple had resided in New London.

Besides Mrs. Harrison, he leaves two sons, Earl Joseph Harrison Jr., Mobile, Ala.: Floyd Alfred Harrison, New London, two daughters, Mrs. Wanda Lee Lavalleur, Cheyenne Wyo., and Mrs. Miriam Ferguson, Mediapolis; one step son, James W. Gray, Burlington: also 15 grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Edith Ralston, Davenport, Fla.

Services were held at 2:30 Tuesday in the Elliott Chapel. The Rev. Clarence Morrison officiated. Interment was in Elmwood cemetery at Morning Sun.

Mrs. Esther Morrison, accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Mildred Collins, sang "Beyond the Sunset." Bearers were Lewis Shutt, Robert McCabe, Gerald Tedrow, Edward Butler, Jack Klein, and Maurice Hulse.
