Winfield Beacon/Wayland News – July 13, 2000

Alice M. Neff, 89, Mt. Pleasant, died at 5:20 P.M. Saturday July 1, 2000 at Mapleleaf Health Care Center in Mt. Pleasant. The funeral service was held at 10 A.M. Thursday, July 6, at Weir Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Ray Draper officiating. Burial was in Cottonwood Cemetery west of Wayland. A memorial has been established to Green Mound Church of God.

Mrs. Neff was born May 7, 1911 near Greenmound, west of Trenton, to Jacob and Martha E. Smith Sinn. She married Fred S. Neff on February 14, 1941 in Trenton. Mrs. Neff was a homemaker and also worked at the Koza Café in Mt. Pleasant for over 17 years. She was a member of Green Mound Church of God and W.S.C.S. of her church.

Survivors include four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Fred A. Neff; one daughter, Lois Neff; three brothers, John, Wade, and Walter Sinn; one sister, Mary Hill; a half-sister, Ethel Smith; and one step-granddaughter.
