I William Paul Sen. believing according to the course of Nature and my present afflictions that my time on Earth is near its close, being weak in body but of sound mind and memory, deem it necessary to make a disposition of my estate both real and personal. Do make this my last will and Testament in the words and figures following to wit:
1st-I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Jane the one full third of all my estate both real and personal, also all my household & kitchen furniture for her own use and benefit.
2d-I will and bequeath to my daughter Adaline Butcher Five hundred dollars at the final settlement of my estate.
3d-I will and bequeath to the Heirs of my son John Paul decd. five in number as follows, Jane, Saphrona, Adaline, Rebecca & William Henry each Fifty dollars upon the settlement of my estate.
4th-I will and bequeath to my two grandchildren William H. Hunter & Albert Hunter, Five Town lots in the town of New London in Henry County, State of Iowa four of said Lots being in the 2d addition to said town.
5th-I will and desire that after the full settlement of my estate real & personal the expenses of settling the same and paying the different shares and amount set forth in the foregoing that my son William Paul receive the residue as his full share of all my estate.
6th-I hereby appoint my son William Paul Executor of this my last Will and Testament.

Note: Will filed in Henry County because of Henry County heirs and Henry County property. William and Jane Paul were residents of Linn County. William Paul died 9 Mar 1869 in Linn County and is buried there. William Paul and family were in New London, Henry County in 1852.
