Rome

Alice Thompson, the ten year old daughter of Clyde Thompson, who lives west of Rome, underwent a rather delicate and critical operation when a pin was removed from her throat through an incision from the outside. The child swallowed the pin sometime in the morning, all efforts to get it removed through by ordinary methods proved of no avail. It pained her considerably and she could not swallow, so she was taken to Mt. Pleasant in the afternoon and after an examination it was found that the operation would be necessary.
