Obituary

Theodore C. Olson

Theodore Carl Olson, son of Carrie and Torjus Olson, was born Sept. 1, 1882 in Ashby, Minn., and passed away at his home in Garden City, Ia., Tuesday, July 13, at the age of 65 years, 10 months and 12 days.

When only a child he moved with his parents to Marshalltown, Iowa, where the family lived a few years. They moved from there to Story City, where Mr. Olson grew to early manhood.

On Feb. 10, 1909, he was united in marriage to Anna Tungland of Garden City. To this union 10 children were born; one son Truman preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife; and the following children: Charlotte (Mrs. Reuben Sorenson) of Hubbard; Reuben, of Garden City; Edith (Mrs. Everette Edvenson), Williams; Ruth (Mrs. Palmer Dahl), Elmore, Minn.; Thora (Mrs. Eugene Wymore), Garden City; Ervin, Lester, Evelyn and Verdella, at home. He is also survived by one sister, Jennie, of Nevada; two brothers, Charlie and John of Des Moines; and also 12 grandchildren.

Mr. Olson was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. At the age of 25 years he accepted Christ as his personal Savior, and it was his desire to serve the Lord in his home and also among his fellowmen. He was a member of the Stavanger Lutheran church of Garden City, where he attended services regularly until his health began to fail.

Mr. Olson had been in poor health for a number of years, and towards the end was mostly confined to his home. Death came very suddenly and was a shock to all who knew him. He was a kind and loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by his family as well as a large circle of friends.
