Henry Schubert Shocks the Community by Killing Himself.

Henry Schubert Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schubert residing about five miles northeast of Britt, came to a very sudden death last Sunday afternoon about 2 o’clock. Mr. Schubert Sr., two sons and daughter had come to Britt to attend church, leaving the deceased at home with his mother. The young man was in the kitchen, when the mother heard a gun shot and hurrying to where the sound came from, she found the boy lying on the floor with one side of his head blown off.  She hastened to a neighboring family and word was at once sent to town for the members of the family, who hastened home but of course could do nothing but send for the Coroner, who went out and viewed the remains. The deceased was 19 years old on the second day of February, and had been an invalid for a considerable time.  During the past winter he was sent to a Chicago hospital for treatment, but was unable to get any relief.  It will never be known for certain whether the young man deliberately took his life or whether it was an accident. The family is one of the most highly respected in this community and will have the heartfelt sympathy of a large circle of friends. The funeral was held at the family home on Tuesday morning, Rev. Koster of the Lutheran church officiating.

The interment was made at Evergreen cemetery.

CARD OF THANKS.
We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to all friends and neighbors who so nobly came to our assistance in time of trouble and sorrow.~HENRY SCHUBERT & FAMILY.
