Obituary of Ruth Lassahn

Ruth Lassahn was born January 21, 1920, on a farm in Liberty township, Hancock county, the youngest of eight children born to her parents,

John Heginger and Fannie Kratchmer.

The family moved to Klemme in 1925, and Ruth completed her education in the Klemme schools. She attended religious instruction and became a member of the Klemme Methodist church by confirmation.

On October 2, 1946, Ruth Heginger and Harold Lasahn were married at Forest City, Iowa. This union was blessed with two daughters.

They commenced housekeeping on the Mrs. C. A. Arnold farm, and for the last two years resided on the A. M. Resendahl farm north of Garner.

Ruth had a sweet disposition and was kind and helpful to everyone around her.

A year or more ago, Ruth had a sick spell and spent some weeks at the Iowa City hospital and suddenly became well. Just recently she again spent several weeks in the hospital with the same high fever. The doctors could not locate the trouble, and she died Thursday evening, September 10, 1953.

She reached the age of 33 years, seven months, and 20 days, and leaves to mourn her passing: her husband, Harold Lassahn; two daughters, Lavohn Kay, 5 and Larinda Sue, 2. Six sisters: Mollie, Mrs. Lee Price, Mason City; Martha, Mrs. Will Tiggeman, Klemme; Anna, Mrs. John Pannhoff,Klemme; Fannie, Mrs. Jake Blumer, Garner; Doris, Mrs. Edwin Medaus, Klemme; Cecelia, Mrs. Taas Harms, Belmond; one brother, Carl Heginger, Klemme; and other more distant relatives and friends.

Rites held Monday for Ruth Lassahn

The Leader & Signal printed the same obituary with this additional information

Funeral held Monday, Sept. 14, at 2 p.m., from the Methodist church at Klemme, for RuthLassahn. The Rev. E. Morris Egeland, pastor at Klemme,and the Rev. Trevor Baskerville of the First Methodist church, Garner, had charge of the services.

Interment took place in the family lot of Ell Township cemetery near Klemme. The pallbearers were: Ronald Gibbs, Morris Nuerhring, Verner Lau, Merlin Neuberger, Graydon Back, and Dorance Day.
