Maurice J. "Bud" Murray, 58

Funeral services for Maurice J. "Bud" Murray were held at 10:30 a.m., Tues. Dec. 1 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner. St. Boniface Men's Society Rosary was held at Tenold Funeral Home, Klemme, on Dec 1 at 7:30 p.m. followed by a parish scripture service.

Officiating at the funeral service was Msgr. Roger O'Brien. Casket bearers were; Russell Imoehl, Philip Garland, Lawrence Engstler, Al Denny, Don Quintus and Luverne Schmidt. Interment was in St. Boniface Cemetery, Garner.

Bud died suddenly at Mercy hospital in Mason City on Sun. Nov. 29 at the age of 58.

Maurice "Bud" Murray, the son of Thomas and Hazel Goepel Murray, was born March 25, 1923 at Crystal Lake. He attended school at Crystal Lake and graduated in 1941. He was united in marriage to Elsie Thiemann of Klemme on November 17, 1942. Bud moved to Britt for one year and then moved to the present farm in 1944.

He was a member of St. Boniface Church in Garner and church organizations, member of Hancock Swine Board, Hancock and Winnebago Beef Board. Six years of the Klemme School Board and a member of the Board for the Klemme Apartments. Bud was very active in many sports related activities and was an avid sports fan.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie, daughters, Mrs. Janet Kramer of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Mary Jo Hamrick and husband Brian of Palms, California Marine Corps Base; also by sons Jerry J. of Hudson and Thomas and wife Kathy of Garner; four grandchildren, Debra, Angela, Adam and Wade.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
