Evelyn King, 75, Webster City, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Morgan officiating. Following cremation, the ashes will be buried at the South Salem Cemetery at Salem, Iowa. Visitation will be prior to the service. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral Home.

Evelyn Elizabeth Long, daughter of Harold and Lona McDowell Long, was born Jan. 30, 1927 on a farm northeast of Mt. Pleasant. She attended rural schools and graduated from Salem High School in 1944. On July 9, 1947 she married Rex Marion King at Napierville, Ill. The couple resided at Mt. Pleasant, Storm Lake, Urbandale, Vincent, Cantril and Webster City. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. King is survived by her husband, Rex; daughters and son-in-law, Cindy and Robert Farley, Becky King, all of Webster City, son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Cheryl King of LeMars; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; twin brothers, Delbert Long of Billings, Mont., and Albert Long of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Helen Henthorne of Mt. Pleasant; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Christopher Carter.

She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
