DEATHS

Funeral services for Mrs. Jeffrey Carpenter were held from Elim Lutheran Church in Randall at 2 p.m. Thursday June 30. Pastor A. J. Bringle officiated and burial was in Mt. Olive Cemetery at Randall.

LeOna Olson, daughter of Sam and Maggie Olson was born September 8, 1908 near Randall. She was baptized in the Elim Lutheran Church and confirmed into the Lutheran Faith in the Bethesda Lutheran Church at Jewell.

She graduated from Randall High School in 1927.

On July 11, 1930 she was united in marriage to Jeffrey Carpenter at Randall. She was an active member of Elim congregation where she taught Sunday school, was a member of the choir, an officer of their ALCW and served on the church building committee.

Mrs. Carpenter died at Story City Memorial Hospital after a lingering illness on June 28 at the age of 57 years, 9 months and 20 days.

Surviving are her husband, Jeffrey, her mother, Mrs. Maggie Olson of Randall, one sister, Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) Benson of Ames, four brothers, Lester of Ellsworth, Willard and Stanton of Randall, and Kermit of Fullerton, California.

Her father passed away in 1950.
