Shirley Eckstine, 92, of Webster City, died on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at the Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City. The family will receive friends and relatives from 6:00 – 8:00PM on Thursday, July 16, 2020, at Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com). Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Boman Funeral Home.

Shirley was born on December 7, 1927, to Joseph and Pearl (Hemmen) Klaver in Hamilton County, Iowa. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1945. Shirley married Orville N. Eckstine on August 23, 1948 in Webster City, IA, they had five children together. Shirley worked for Dr. Ellis in Webster City, and has Waitressed at the Starlight, Black Knight, and Colonial Inn in Fort Dodge. She moved to Webster City in 2014.

What she loved most was her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed going to garage sales, searching for arrowheads and mushrooms, reading and gardening both vegetables and flowers.

Shirley’s family includes her children: Holly (Dennis) Kleckner of Webster City, IA, Nate Eckstine of Washington State, Lisa (Kent) Balduchi, of Altoona, IA, Clint (Vicki) Eckstein of Yuma, AZ and Ray Charles (Elma) Eckstine of Monroe, WA; special niece: Terri (Jamie) Severson; grandchildren: Kara Hadley, Jolty Kleckner, Angela Balduchi, Laurie Balduchi, Joe Balduchi, Nicole Hofeldt, Sigourney Eckstine, Jenna Eckstine, Jessie Long, Shiree Johanson, and Mitchell Eckstine; several great-grandchildren; brother: Kendall “Butch” (Kay) Klaver; sister: Mary Klaver; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by grandson: Jeremy Kleckner; daughter-in-law: Vicki Thompson; and cousins: Keith and Ardis Hunt.
