Jesse Hill Dies In Story City Hospital Wednesday Afternoon

Jesse Hill, 87, Ellsworth died at Story City Memorial Hospital Wednesday, March 16 at 4:25 p.m. He had been a patient there since Feb. 8.

Born in Norway, Illinois, he was the son of Andrew and Anna Hill. They moved to Story City in 1897, and in 1904 to Ellsworth where he had lived for 62 years. He farmed until retiring in 1941.

Survivors include his wife Ida and three sons, Alvern, Dwane and Ivanell of Ellsworth. Also 12 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mrs. Bertha Larson, Story City; Mrs. Fred L. Peterson of Des Moines and Mrs. Oscar Thompson of Mason City.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held from Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 19. The Rev. Raymond Ehlers will officiate.
