Otis Weltha, 76, Is Dead in Des Moines

Otis Weltha, 76, of Randall died at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines Wednesday, Feb. 9, after an illness of two months.

Born July 16, 1889 on a farm east of Randall, he was the son of Jacob and Ella Weltha.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 2 p.m. at the Elim Lutheran Church, Randall. The Rev. Quentin Quanbeck will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery near Randall.

Friends may call at the Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City until noon on Saturday.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby, Randall; a son, Gaylord of Boone; a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Catherine) Newcomb of Des Moines; three stepchildren, Melbourn Swenson of Randall, Mrs. John Rhamy of San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Hector Tjernagel of Jewell; one brother, Amos Weltha of Story City, three sisters; Mrs. Alma Charlson of Thor, Ia., Mrs. Leona Reutinger of Wapello and Miss Mabel Weltha of Des Moines. There are 15 grandchildren.
