Stratford Courier, Stratford, Iowa, Thursday, April 1, 1915

Andrew Erickson passed away at his home east of Stratford Thursday, March 25, 1915, at the age of 65 years, 1 month and 1 day. He was born in Leksand, Dalarne, Sweden, February 24, 1850, and emigrated to America at the age of 23 years, coming to Stratford July 6, 1873. On April 30, 1877, he was united in marriage to Maggie Leksell. This union was blessed with five children - three sons and two daughters - all living near Stratford. They are Erick G., Alfred M., and Andrew E.; Mrs. Clara B. Angstrom and Mrs. Agnes M. Anderson.

He was a kind and loving husband and father, a good neighbor and a good friend, and will be greatly missed by his family, relatives and friends. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, five children, one daughter-in-law, two sons-in-law and eight grand children, and one brother and two sisters in Sweden, besides a large circle of other relatives and a host of friends.

The funeral services were held at the residence Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Callerstrom, pastor of the Lutheran church, who paid a fine tribute to the memory of the deceased. After the relatives and loving friends had been permitted to view the remains the sad cortege made their way to the South Marion cemetery, where the remains were interred. Peace be to his memory.
