Harry B. McKee, 76, Webster City, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000 at the Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the First Congregational Church in Webster City with Rev. James Buffington officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Mr. McKee was cremated. Visitation will be one hour before the service time. Foster Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Harry Buel McKee, son of Maynard and Irene Sterling McKee, was born May 13, 1924 at Webster City. He received his education in the Webster City schools, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1942. He also attended Webster City Junior College. During W.W. II, he served with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a B-24 pilot. He flew 55 missions in the China, Burma and India Theatre of Action. He was discharged with the rank of captain. Following his discharge, he returned to farm south of Webster City. On Jan. 27, 1947, he married Charlene Seiser at Webster City. The couple farmed south of Webster City. In 1992, he retired due to failing health. He had resided at Southfield since June of 1998.

Mr. McKee is survived by his wife, Charlene, daughter, Mary Byrne, Son, Michael McKee, all of Webster City; grandchildren, Stacy Berhow of Woolstock, Matthew Byrne of Vincent; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Chase, brother, Sterling McKee, Webster City, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by sons, Maynard and Matthew McKee and his parents.

He was a life long member of the First Congregational Church, American Legion Post #191, and the Hamilton County Farm Bureau.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be given to the First Congregational Church, Hamilton County Alzheimers or the Leukemia Society of America.
