Funeral services for Mrs. Harry Carlson were conducted Monday, April 6 at 1:30 p.m. at the Jackson funeral home in Stratford and at 2 p.m. at the Lutheran church there, with Pastor F.W. Hanson of Fort Dodge officiating.

A quartette composed of Mrs. Matt Hotchkiss, Mrs. Arthur Larson, Mr. Lester Anderson and Axel Sandegren sang two numbers. The Lords Prayer was sung as a solo by Mrs. Arthur Larson.

The pallbearers were Gust Berglund, Weldon Sauksen, John Knuth, Marvin Westrum, Loren Hinds, Jim Lundquist.

Interment was in the South Marion cemetery.

Life Sketch

Ruth Frances Rankin was born to George and Mary Rankin on April 15, 1899 at Rosendale, Mo., and died April 3, 1953 at the Colonial hospital at Rochester, Minn.

She was united in marriage on Sept. 1, 1924 to William Olivia Bowers of Conway. To this union were born three daughters, Mrs. Mary Lou Harkins of Adair, Mrs. Sara Jane Huggins of Newton, and Mrs. Joan Lawson of Conway. Her husband died on Oct. 1, 1929.

She was graduated as a nurse in the class of 1921 from the Mission Methodist hospital at St. Joseph, Mo. She practiced her profession until a year and a half ago.

On April 26, 1952 she was married to Harry E. Carlson and had lived near Stratford.

Her parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, three daughters and three grandsons.
