Funeral services for Mrs. Glenn (Alice) Carlson, 72, were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at the Foster Funeral Home with the Rev. Norbert Jolivette officiating and with burial in the South Marion Cemetery near Stratford.

Mrs. Carlson died Monday morning, Aug. 20, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clyde Crawford, in Ames.

Alice Violet Fisher, daughter of Jesse Levi and Mabel Miranda Bergman Fisher, was born June 30, 1907, on a farm near Stratford.

She was reared and educated in the Stratford-Stanhope community, but was graduated from the Gibbon, Neb. high school where her family had later moved.

She was married to Glenn Harlan Carlson, Dec. 25, 1928, and the couple farmed southeast of Stratford, moving to a farm southwest of Jewell in 1941.

She was preceded in death by her husband Nov. 25, 1977. Since that time she had resided with her daughter in Ames.

She is survived by the one daughter, Mrs. Clyde (Marilyn) Crawford of Ames; three sons, Neil Carlson of Bentonville, Ark.; Gary Carlson of Jewell; and Alan Carlson of Dyersville, Iowa; three grandchildren, Mrs. Daryl (Susan) Keasey and Jason Carlson, both of Bentonville; and Alicia Carlson of Dyersville; three great-granddaughters, Michelle, Cherie and Shannon Keasey, Bentonville. Also surviving are one brother, Leroy C. Fisher of Stratford; and one sister, Mrs. Halsey (Roberta) Vegors of Ames.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and also a step-father, Tilghman H. Ferlen; and one brother, Ernest Fisher.
