Miss Ellen Carlson
(Stratford)

Stratford (Special) - Miss Ellen Lorena Carlson, 85, a life-long Stratford resident, died Thursday, Jan. 29, at the Boone County Hospital where she had been a patient since Nov. 20, 1969.

Miss Carlson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl John [Charlotta Anderson] Carlson, was born July 3, 1884. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church where she was a faithful member.

Survivors include 2 brothers, Harry of Stratford, and Clarence Carlson of Detroit, Mich.; 1 sister, Mrs. Esther Gast of Stratford; 1 niece, Mrs. E.H. Wachholz of Prospect Heights, Ill.; and a nephew, Eldon Monson of Livermore.

Miss Carlson was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. at the Stratford Lutheran Church with the Rev. A.M. Youngquist in charge. Burial will be at the South Marion Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Hanson-Stark-Welin Chapel, Stratford, on Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The body will be taken to the church Monday morning.
