Farmer Is Killed By Cattle

August W. Graffunder, 60, Blairsburg farmer, was found trampled to death by cattle at his farm 10 miles north of Blairsburg yesterday noon.

Graffunder had taken a load of fodder to a herd of feeder cattle in a pasture. When he did not return his wife went to look for him and found him lying, badly mangled, near a still running tractor.

Graffunder is a brother of J.F. Graffunder ande Miss Ella Graffunder, both of Webster City.

Other survivors are brothers, Carl L. Graffunder of Green Valley, Minn., and Louis P. Graffunder of Marquette, Mich., and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Baptist church in Webster City with the Halverson funeral home of Dows in charge. The Rev. Joseph Heartburg will officiate. Burial will be in the Dows cemetery.
