KILLED BY A VICIOUS BULL

Webster City Tribune: A distressing accident occurred on the B. C. Mason farm last evening. James R. Walters was feeding his horses when he was attacked by a 2-year-old short-horn bull while passing through the feed yard. The animal was dehorned but it made a lunge at him, knocking him down and completely smashing his breast. His breast bone and ribs were broken and he died in about a quarter of an hour after the accident occurred. The animal had never been considered vicious, and when it first came towards him he attempted to beat it away with a scoop shovel he had in his hands, and the fact of his showing fight probably made the creature more vicious than it otherwise would have been.
