Donald W. Williams, 88, of Webster City, died Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Southfield Wellness Community. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Williams with Father Rick Dagit officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Donald Winfield Williams was born December 17, 1929 in Elkhart, the son of Lawrence and Reatha Jones Williams. He graduated from White Oak School in 1947. He served in the United States Marines from 1951 to 1953. He married Donna Rykhus on September 18, 1954 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Fort Dodge. The couple farmed northeast of Williams. In 2013, they moved to Webster City.

Donald is survived by his wife, Donna of Webster City; children, Kevin (Joyce) Williams of Webster City, Bruce (Leslie) Williams of Waukee, Julie Phelan of Bristow, VA, Janet (Todd) Staley of Webster City, Larry (Julie) Williams of Grand Haven, MI; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Spooner of Ankeny and Shirley Kenney of Salem, MA; sister-in-law, Rosie Williams of Ames and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Blake Williams, siblings, Dean Williams, Beverly Smith, Doris Wilson and Juanita Sayre.

Donald was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Williams, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City, Knights of Columbus, the Williams American Legion Post 633 and a 50 plus year member of the Williams Lions Club. Donald was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the Williams Lions Club in memory of Don.
