Judith was a 1954 graduate of Clarion High School and studied physical education at the University of Colorado. She married Frank Peterson on March 29, 1957, in Clarion. Judith was a stay-at-home mom to her daughter and two sons and later worked for Farm Journal.

Judy was an excellent athlete and loved to watch sports, especially anything being played by the Iowa State Cyclones. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing on the Webster City Links Golf Course. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, biking, reading, completing crosswords, and solving Wheel of Fortune with her family. She dearly loved her two cats, Callie and Bandit.

Judy will always be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor, which endeared her to many and kept us laughing until the very end.
