Virginia Krieger, 92 of Webster City, died Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10: 30 a.m. on Monday, December 18, 2017 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Stephen Meyer officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery with follow the services. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.

Virginia Aller was born to E. J. and Ila Richardson Aller on August 24, 1925 in Keota, IA. She attended Hopewell Elementary School and Keota High School, later attending the American Institute of Business in Des Moines and the University of Iowa in Iowa City with journalism as a major. She was a member of the Alpha Iota Sorority at AIB and Zeta Tau Alpha at the University of Iowa.

Ginny worked for one term at the Iowa State House for Casey Loss, the Representative of Kossuth County. She then began working for the Iowa Aeronautics Commission at the airport in Des Moines. Ginny worked there for three years before taking a job with United Airlines, Des Moines Sales office.

On February 13, 1954 she was married to Francis J. Krieger at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Keota. The couple moved to a farm north of Blairsburg, living there until February of 1989, when they moved to Webster City.
Ginny was active with the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women which covered the northeast quarter of Iowa, serving as commission chairman and/or officer for thirty years. She was also active as a state officer with the American Cancer Society in Des Moines and on the Hamilton County Board for over thirty-five years. She received the State Outstanding Volunteer Award in 1985 and later the Dr. J.P. Morgan award.

While living in Des Moines she sang with a professional trio and was also a member of St. Mary’s and St. Thomas Aquinas parish choirs, in addition to being a member of the Webster City Community Choir for ten years.

Ginny was a member of the NR Chapter of the P.E.O. and BA Chapter of TTT, all of Webster City. She served on the Youth and Family Board of Webster City and the Youth and Family Shelter Services Board Foundation of Ames. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Her interests included traveling, playing bridge and working with flowers.

Ginny is survived by nephews, Curtis (Pam) Aller of Keota, Chris (Debbie) Aller of Kansas City, Mo; niece, Cindy Horan of Harrisonville, MO; great nephews, Jacob, Jeffrey and Jesse Aller; great nieces, Melissa Horan, Michelle Aller and Elizabeth Aller; sister-in-law, Dorothy Helmke of Swea City and several cousins.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Francis and her brother, E.C. Aller.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Youth and Family Services of Webster City in memory of Ginny.
