Marlon Jay Card, 51, of Webster City, formerly of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was born on July 30, 1966, in Hampton, Iowa, to Myron and Carol (Schermer) Card.

Marlon lived at Opportunity Village in Clear Lake and most recently lived at Elm Street House in Webster City.

He enjoyed gardening, playing catch, listening to music, watching tv, going shopping, attending concerts and sporting events, and most of all spending time with his family. Marlon was active with the special Olympics and even got to attend Nationals.

Marlon is survived by his parents Myron and Carol Card of Hampton, grandmother Irene Card of Ackley, brothers Troy Card of Fairmont, Minnesota, and Sheldon (Missy) Card of Pleasantville, nieces and nephews Maddisen Card, Savanna Card, Max Hinners and Lincoln Card, along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Harold and Mary Schermer, paternal grandfather Balis Card and twin brother at birth Michael Jay Card.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 13, 2017, at the Hampton United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, November 12, 2017, at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. Burial will take place in the Hampton Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to Special Olympics Iowa or Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
