Leonard K. Rockow, 71, rural Blairsburg, former Williams area farmer, died Saturday, Sept. 19 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wed., Sept. 23 at the Vernon Lutheran Church near Dows with Rev. Rodger Dykstra officiating. Burial will be in the Vernon Township Cemetery at Dows.

Visitation will be at Foster Funeral Home from 5 p.m. today until 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Leonard Kenneth Rockow, son of Frank and Martha Beyer Rockow, was born May 8, 1916 in Williams Township. He attended Williams Township rural school.

Feb. 18, 1944, he married Marian Klein at Webster City. The couple farmed in the Williams area. They moved to the Blairsburg area in December of 1966.

Survivors are his wife; one son and three daughters, Marilyn (Mrs. Gerald) Osborn of Kansas City, Daniel of Williams, Suzanne (Mrs. Bruce) Hoegh of Atlantic, Rebecca Rockow of Webster City; eight grandchildren; one brother and two sisters, Herbert of Ft. Meyers, Fla., Lorene (Mrs. Don) Hastings of Iowa Falls, Velma (Mrs. Doug) Christensen of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of Vernon Lutheran Church, a former church council member, and was a board member of the Farmers Coop Elevator.
