Daily Freeman Journal, Webster City, Iowa, Thursday, May 24, 1934

Miss Minnie Fern Hougham was born at Funk's Grove, Ill., August 6, 1889. While yet a small girl she moved with her parents to Shirley, Ill. There she lived and grew to young womanhood, and on Dec. 20, 1908, was married to Mr. Edgar Neff. Soon after their marriage, they moved to Bloomington, Ill., where they remained for about 11 years. In 1920 they moved to Hamilton county, Iowa. For some years they lived on a farm east of Webster City, but for the immediate past few years they had lived in Webster City in the home on west First street, where she passed away early Saturday morning.

Mrs. Neff was a good woman, a good neighbor and a true friend. She became a Christian in her young womanhood days, and identified herself with the Church of Christ, and was very regular and constant in her attendance at Bible school.

In her passing she leaves to mourn her departure a loving and devoted husband and five children. They are, Mrs. Gladys (Milo) Halsne, of Williams, Iowa; Everett, Margie, Roland and Darwin. There are also three sisters, Mrs. Jacob Smoot, and Mrs. L.D. Simpson, of Normand, Ill., and Mrs. George Orick; and one brother, Roy Hougham, of Shirley, Ill. Many very warm friends share with the family in the deep sorrow which has come to them, and many are lifting their hearts to the throne of God's grace, for his comforting care and tender mercies.

Funeral services were conducted at the Foster funeral home Monday afternoon at 2:30, by the minister, Manson E. Miller, and the body laid to rest in the beautiful Graceland cemetery.
