Charles E. Urich, 83, longtime Webster City resident, died early this morning at his home. He had been in ill health the past four years.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. James S. Pittman officiating and with burial in the Blairsburg cemetery.

Charles Ellsworth Urich, son of Enos and Emma Campbell Urich, was born July 5, 1893 at Indiana. He was reared and educated at Blairsburg.

On Dec. 24, 1912, he was united in marriage with Abigail McPherson and he was employed as a painter in the Blairsburg and Webster City communities. Later he worked as a butcher at the Nissen Company.

On Jan. 7, 1943, he married Mary Belle Adams, and since resided in this community.

He is survived by his wife; four sons and five daughters: Raymond of Artesia, N.M., Lloyd of Peoria, Ill., Merle of Goodell, Iowa, Leslie of Webster City; Mrs. Alice Eide, Ethel Urich, both of Webster City; Mrs. Wayne (Vivian) Schuh of Fort Dodge, Mrs. Ed (Mary) Feeley of Eagle Grove and Mrs. Robert (Betty) Doering of Hubbard; three step-sons and three step-daughters, Andrew A. Adams, Belleview, Neb., Hugh M. Adams and Leo H. Adams, both of Ames; Mrs. Ed (Edna) Bakken of Jewell, Mrs. Darwin (Cleone) Pelz of Blairsburg and Mrs. Carroll (Darlene) Jones of Des Moines.

Also surviving are 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; 27 step-grandchildren; 20 step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Arnold and Mrs. Theo (Goldie) Richardson, both of Webster City.

He was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, three grandchildren, his parents, three brothers and four sisters.

Mr. Urich was a member of Grace United Methodist church.
