W.C. RESIDENT DEAD AT 53

Emil H. Pfaffenbach, 53, longtime resident of Webster City, died at 6:20 a.m. today at Hamilton county hospital where he had been a patient the past two weeks. Mr. Pfaffenbach had been in poor health the past three years.

Funeral services will be held Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran church, starting at 2 p.m., with the Rev. O.F. Weiss officiating. Preceding the church service, brief rites will be held at 1:30 at Foster's funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.

Emil Henry Pfaffenbach, son of Conrad and Augusta Pfaffenbach, was born at Pleasant Plains, Ill., Oct. 3, 1893. At the age of two, he moved with his parents to Webster City. He was educated in the parochial schools and grew to young manhood in this community.

Feb. 15, 1918, he was united in marriage to Alta Blackburn, at Decatur, Ill., and following their marriage moved to Webster City where they had made their home since.

Mr. Pfaffenbach was preceded in death by one son, Walter, who lost his life while in service Oct. 12, 1944, in New Guinea. His parents, one sister, who died in infancy and a granddaughter, Sandra Louise Stein, who died in infancy, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Eugene Kiesecker and Mrs. Franklin Stein of this city; a son, Donald, at home; three grandchildren, Walter Stephen Pfaffenbach, Judith Ann Kiesecker and Michael John Stein, all of this city, and a sister, Mrs. Fred Koestner of Webster City.

Mr. Pfaffenbach was baptized in the Lutheran faith and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church here.

He was employed for five years with the Beam Manufacturing Co. before his health failed.
