Married after Waiting 46 years.
Webster City, Jan. 14.—Elijah Davis, aged 65, and Miss Fannie Spaulding, aged 67, were married to-night. A pretty romance is connected with the event. In 1851 the bride of to-night was upset in the Ohio river and Davis rescued her from drowning. Owning to objections of the parents they never married. Davis went west and Miss Spaulding moved to Iowa. Davis came into possession of an Iowa farm and discovered his old sweetheart, with a younger brother, his tenant. He had not heard of her for forty years. Both had remained single, and recently decided to end their lives together.
