May Get New Factory

~

Webster City, April 3. – The capitalist of this city are conferring of George McKown of Dolgeville, N.Y. with a view to establishing a felt shoe manufactory here. Mr. McKown is a man of wide experience and has made a proposition that may make a considerable impression among our business men. It is intended to form a stock company with a capital of $(these numbers are blurred), of which he will take $5,000 worth of stock. He wishes to establish a factory which will employ 200 hands and manufacture 1,000 pair of shoes every working day in a year. He also agrees to use part of the machinery formerly in the Strohmeyer shoe factory here. The matter will be thoroughly investigated and there are strong hopes that the factory will be established.
