The mass of the resurrection was prayed in honor of Mrs. Joseph (Marie I) Kastner at 10 a m Wednesday in St Patrick's Catholic church in Perry. The pastor, Fr Maurice Schulte, was celebrant. Interment was made in St Mary's cemetery at Jamaica.
A native of Bohemia, Mrs. Kastner came to America in 1912 and was married to Joseph Kastner October 27, 1913. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Paschel and was born June 19, 1886.
The Kastners farmed in Washington township in Dallas county until 1925 when they moved to a farm near Yale. Following Mr. Kastners death in 1968, she moved to Perry. Mrs. Kastner was a patient in the Green County hospital at the time of her death October 28.
Survivors include a son, Ernest J. Kastner, Jamaica; three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Martha) Peel, Perry; Mrs. John (Pauline) Greiner, Jefferson and Mrs. Frank (Marie) Hirschberg, Bayard; a brother Max, in Germany; four sisters, Mrs. Agnes Weiss in Germany; Mrs. Ida Bauer in Austria; Mrs. Abline Hirschberg In Germany and Mrs. Adele Gerdes of Akron, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
