Funeral services for Edith Guy, 86, of Downey Calif, a former Guthrie county resident, were held Saturday, February 10, at the Sampson Mortuary Chapel in Downey. Dr. Lester Ford officiated. Burial was at the Inglewood Park cemetery.
Mrs. Guy died of a heart attack February 7. She had made her home with her daughter, Louina Powell, in Downey for the past three years after breaking her hip.
Edith Ann Wright Guy was a native of Guthrie county.
She was married to Morton Guy November 28, 1907. To this union seven children were born. Surviving are W Maxwell Guy of San Pedro, Calif; Mrs. Norma Laughery of Bayard; Mrs. Lucille Mulford of Belmond and Mrs. Louina Powell of Downey.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1956; an infant son, Hubert Wright, and a infant daughter, Lodema; her parents, five brothers and two sisters.
Mr. and Mrs. Guy moved to California in 1942. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Bell, Calif, transferring from the Guthrie Center Church of Christ. She was a life member of the Seeley township WCTU; a member of the Royal Neighbor Lodge in Guthrie Center and transferred to Huntington Park Lodge. She was past president of the Bell Senior Citizens and her Sunday school class. She was very active in church work.
