Funeral services for Mrs. Everett (Clara E) Gilliland were held Wednesday at 2 pm from the Bagley United Methodist Church. The pastor, Rev Paul Donelson, officiated and interment was made in the Richland cemetery.
Music for the service was offered by Organist Mrs. Bill Stanley and the casket was carried by Eddie McCartney, Ray Middleton, Jack Cain, Vernon Holmes, and Oral and Lloyd Bullock.
A lifelong resident of the Bagley-Cooper area, Mrs. Gilliland had been in failing health for several years. Her death occurred July 4 in the Green County Medical Center where she had been a patient for a short time.
Clara E. Gilliland, daughter of Fred and Ella Mount Remele, was born March 24, 1908, in Greene County. She was reared Southwest of Cooper where she attended school and graduated with the class of 1926.
On January 12, 1939, she was united in marriage with Everett Gilliland, in Bethany, Missouri. The couple lived their entire married life in Bagley. Clara was a member of the United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary of Bagley. Mrs. Gilliland died at the Green County Medical Center on July 4, 1977, at the age of 69 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Lela and Mrs. Mabel Meinecke, and two brothers, Earle and Matt.
Survivors include her husband, Everett; sisters Mrs. Lysle (Della) Barker of Fremont, an Mrs. Robert (Bertha) Russell of Guthrie Center, other relatives and many friends.
