Maude E. Christman, daughter of Isaac and Martha Stipp, was born July 25, 1893, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was reared and grew to womanhood in St. Louis, MO. the family then moved to Bloomington, Ill.
Maude met and married Edward Christman on November 25, 1912, in Bloomington. they were the parents of three sons and one daughter. The couple moved to Iowa to farm near Bagley and Bayard. Edward died in 1941. Mrs. Christman moved into Bagley and the last 25 years had made her home with her son in California. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge No. 432, Past Noble Grand and Veritas Chapter No 316 OES, all in Bagley.
Mrs. Christman died Monday, October 3, in Pinon Hills, Calif, at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Glen, two half brothers and one half-sister. Those who survive include a daughter, Mrs. Russell Dorothy Klinzman of Bagley, sons, Earl of Pinon Hills, Calif. and Robert of Bayard, six grandchildren , seven great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Final rites for Mrs. Christman were held Saturday, October 8, at 10 am from the Slininger Chapel in Jefferson. Rev Paul Donelson, Minister at the Bagley United Methodist Church, officiated. Mrs. David Carlstrom served as organist and the casket was carried by Raymond Peters, Dwight Spencer, George Vaux, Oral Bullick, James O'Lena and John Hill. Interment was made in the Dodge Township cemetery.
