"Nancy Hunter was born in Sommerset [sic] county, PA, Feb 15, 1834, and died at her home in Bagley, Jan. 20, 1906, aged 71 yrs., 11 mo., 5 days. She was joined in marriage to Reuben Shank Nov. 8, 1855. To this union were born twelve children, eight sons and four daughters. She is survived by the husband, five sons and three daughters. In company with her family she emigrated to Lee Co., Ill., in Oct., 1864, and moved to Guthrie Co. in Sept., 1875, residing on the farm until May, 1885, afterwards moving to Bagley, where she has lived until death a devoted wife, an affectionate mother and a simple faithful Christian. She united with the Brethren church nearly a half a century ago and remained steadfast and true to the principles of right doing and right living until called to her reward in heaven."
