Margery Jean Odell Maynard was born September 30, 1926, at Long Island, New York, and passed away November 30, 1977, at the age of 51 years, two months.
Her childhood was spent in New York State and Massachusetts with her later childhood spent in Long Meadow, Mass.
She graduated from West Brook Junior College and took a post graduate course at Boulder, Colo. She was united in marriage to Jimmy Maynard in March 1960 and lived on a farm north of Guthrie Center.
She was a member of the Guthrie County Retarded Citizens Association and helped with the recreation program at the Guthrie County Home. She was a member of the Harmony Hour Club, Seeley Homemakers Club of the Farm Bureau and WRCC Club, She was also a member of the Guthrie Center United Methodist Church and the Pacemakers group of the church.
Survivors include her husband, a brother, Doug, two uncles, three aunts and two nieces.
Services were held Friday, December 2, at the Guthrie Center United Methodist Church with Rev Richard Layman officiating. The organist was Mrs. Jack Coffman with special music provided by Mrs. Willard Ritchie and Mrs. Lester Jorgensen.
Interment was made in Highland Township Cemetery. Casket bearers were Willard Richie, Lester Jorgensen, Lawrence Burkhardt, Melvin Durst, Dale Purcell and Phillip Burkhardt.
