John Dale McCartney, 69, died Tuesday night at Mary Greeley hospital in Ames following a long bout with cancer. A native of the Casey-Fontanelle area, Mr. McCartney had lived in Bagley for many years. Until his retirement a few years ago, he had been an employee of the Iowa State Highway Commission.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Bagley United Methodist Church with the Rev Paul Donelson, officiating. Interment will be made in the Dodge Center Cemetery.
He is survived by his widow, Flossie, of Bagley; sons, Eddie of Bagley and Keith of Annandale, Va; daughters, Mary Ann Crabb of Ames, and Rita Blocken of Des Moines; sisters, Ruth Rohner of Fontanelle and Lois Dresback of Jamaica; eight grandchildren and step children, Clifford Morton of Des Moines and Maureen Rice of Jefferson.
