Funeral services for George c. Scheuermann of Cooper were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson. The Pastor, Rev Delbert E. Weiss officiated and interment was made in the Jefferson Cemetery.
Mrs. Cliff Said was soloist and organist was Mrs. Lee Sloan. The casket was carried by Earl Hasty, Richard Henson and Jim, Darrell, Darwin and Dean Scheuermann.
The 73 year old farmer who had spent all of his adult life in the Bagley and Cooper communities, died Saturday at his home.
George Chris Scheuermann was born May 3, 1903, at Deer Creed, in Tazewell County, Illinois, and died at his home near Jefferson on Saturday, March 12, at the age of 73.
He was the son of Fredrick and Katherin Grimm Scheuermann.
When George was four years old, he moved with his parents to a farm north of Bagley in Greenbrier Township. He received his schooling there. George continued to live there until 1974 when he moved to Franklin Township to live with is mother and his brother, Albert.
After his mother's death in 1976 George continued to make his home with his brother, Albert. He was a member of IOOF Lodge No. 512 in Bagley.
George was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister and is brother, Albert, on March 1 of this year. He is survived by five brothers, Frank of Herndon, Fred, Walter and Roy, all of Jefferson and Clarence of Bayard; two sisters, Mrs. Don (Elsie) Hutchinson and Mrs. Carl (Marie) Henson, both of Jefferson, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
