Death came to Mrs. Doris Walker, 48, of Urbandale Sunday, April 17, in Iowa Methodist Medical Center. She had entered the hospital early in April, but an operation in January of 1976 had shown a malignancy. She was the wife of Gene Walker and the mother of four daughters, Sherrie, Mrs. Bill England of Indianola; Connie, a student at Illinois Wesleyan in Bloomington, Ill; Kathy and Laurie at home. The youngest daughter is a freshman in high school. She was the daughter of Mrs. George Stenstrom of Coon Rapids and the late Mr.z Stenstrom, whose death occurred in 1976.
Funeral services were held Wednesday a 1 p.m. from the First Assembly of God Church in the Merle Hay area and burial was at the Chapel Hills Gardens on Merle Hay Road.
Attending the funeral from Bayard were Mrs. Rose Walker, and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Tuel and Jim. Mr. and Mrs. James Carstens of Bagley were there and Jim served as a pall bearer, Julie Tuel who attends ISU in Ames was present and Mrs. W F Siefkes few back from Fullerton, Calif. Mrs. Walker is Gene's mother and Mrs. Tuel and Mrs. Siefkes are sisters.
